Bio

Wayne Madsen is an interdisciplinary artist who specializes in
software/hardware projects about socio-lingua-power relationships.
While trained in oil painting for fifteen years, he has transitioned
over the past six years into a more broad base of media, from
video/installation to augmented digital performance events. Wayne's
passion in his practice is to merge his practice into a framework for
artists and non-artists to work together on conceptual work.

Wayne Madsen grew up in Michigan. He earned a BS in Psychology and a
BA in Visual Arts at Brigham Young University before moving to San
Jose, California. There he earned an MFA in Digital Media Art from the
CADRE New Media Laboratory at San Jose State University. He has worked
with artist collective Red76 through ZER01 New Media Festival
residency projects. He has also written and edited for the SWITCH New
Media online journal. He currently lives in the Boston, MA area with
his wife and two daughters.
