The Between Two Moons portrait series was created thanks to the fascination
with other people. It is a space where the portrayed people and the
photographer, and then the viewer, meet without words. Glances draw in their
depth, stimulate the imagination, focus attention. Each meeting happened for real
but doesn’t remain objective truth. The image recorded on the black sheet
becomes a reflection of this silent conversation. The characters seem to drift in
time and space between reality and dream. The mysterious aura of people and
the imperfections of the image shows interface between matter and spirit.
“I use the complicated 19th century Wet Collodion technique. The chemical
recipe and the long exposure time make me more of an alchemist and poet
describing fleeting impressions than a reporter recording reality, ”says Krynska.
Each portrait is a synergy of emotions, sensitivity and experiences. A unique
image is created, shimmering in a specific metallic way, and the portrait becomes
a mirror of the soul.
