Statement

After a brief tumor scare and the resulting tests, the experience's remnant was a cache of MRI brain scans. The slices created by resonating machine seemed strangely alien and in sequence appeared to be laughing and melting and whispering in the dark. Within these representations of my skull and brain was a story, a fictional mystery. After creating a series of short moving image sequences/videos, I played off the scan's alien nature and the magnetic (solar) origin to create a brief context, a mystery of found signals and digital processing. And combined with a brooding and dissociative soundscape, the experience is one of curious fear and alien familiarity.
