About This Juried Exhibition
The challenge to the fall 2012 and spring 2013Global Photography Project (GPP) participants was to work
in teams to discuss and photograph their concept of “Blind Spot.”
Photographers from six different countries—Brazil, Ukraine, United States, San Salavador, Qatar, tand Montenegro—participated and contributed diverse visions formed by their gender, age, geography, cultural background, and language.
The images selected for this exhibition are the result of the artists grappling with defining the literal
and metaphorical sense of the theme, “Blind Spot”. The photographers discussed the theme as a group,
but eventually searched themselves and searched their varied social and cultural lanscapes to find their
own interpretation through their lenses. Their visual responses are as varied as the individuals,
but they all communicate to us their concept of "Blind Spot".
The work from both fall 2012 and spring 2013 was juried by Stephen Perloff, editor of the Philadelphia Photo Review.
