About This Exhibition
The challenge to the fall 2012 Global Photography Project (GPP) participants was to work
in teams to discuss and photograph their concept of “Blind Spot.”
Photographers from four different countries—Brazil, Ukraine, United States, and Montenegro—participated
and contributed diverse visions formed by their gender, age, geography, cultural background, and language.
The images selected for this exhibition are the result of the artists grappling with defining the literal
and metaphorical sense of the theme, “Blind Spot”. The photographers discussed the theme as a group,
but eventually searched themselves and searched their varied social and cultural lanscapes to find their
own interpretation through their lenses. Their visual responses are as varied as the individuals,
but they all communicate to us their concept of "Blind Spot".
