Artist Statement:
The naked city
La città nuda è un progetto fotografico sulla solitudine e l’emarginazione dell’essere umano.
È un viaggio attraverso le città del mondo in pieno processo di cambiamento urbano, dove i nuovi edifici destano nell’ umanità un’emozione del deserto.
Dove la povertà è nascosta dalla ricchezza e dall’ipocrisia.
L’umanità è chiusa in totale isolamento, dove non c’è spazio per le emozioni.
I quartieri vengono controllati dal denaro e la popolazione non ha più libertà ed è condannata alla distanza sociale. L’uomo è nella sua solitudine più fredda.
Grandi palazzi che nascondono verità, le più intime. L’urbanismo moderno è lo specchio di una società totalitaria e capitalista. Pezzi di cemento, pezzi di umanità che crollano.

The naked city is a photographic project on loneliness and the marginalization of the human being.
It is a journey through the cities of the world in the process of urban change, where the new buildings arouse an emotion of the desert in humanity. Where poverty is hidden by wealth and hypocrisy.
Humanity is closed in total isolation, where there is no room for emotions. Neighborhoods are controlled by money and the population no longer has freedom and is condemned to social distance.
Man is in colder solitude than he is. Large buildings that hide the most intimate truths. Modern urbanism is the mirror of a totalitarian and capitalist society. Pieces of concrete, pieces of humanity that collapse.

About the Artist:

Sono nata nel 1980 a Pisa, in Toscana.
Sono una fotografa, artista visiva e curatrice.
Fin da piccola mi sono nutrita di arte e fotografia.
A 12 anni mi è stata regalata la mia prima macchina fotografica, una Canon automatica, e da lì ho iniziato a cambiare la mia visione del mondo, con la necessità di andare sempre più dietro le apparenze.
La fotocamera diventa uno specchio dell’umanità.
Nel 2008 mi sono laureata in fotografia e video presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze.
Nel 2010 sono partita per Parigi, dove vivo tuttora e dove ho frequentato corsi di Cinema, Fotografia e Antropologia del corpo all’Università di Parigi 8.
Parigi segna una nuova era per il mio lavoro artistico, il corpo diventa l’oggetto principale della mia fotografia. Il corpo è lo specchio dell’esistenza, della condizione umana. Il corpo assume un aspetto sociale e politico. Nel 2018 fondo il collettivo di artisti « Action Hybride, il corpo politico e sociale », per il quale organizziamo mostre, conferenze, workshop e azioni culturali. Sto anche lavorando al mio primo libro fotografico, “Human landscapes”.

I was born in 1980 in Pisa, Tuscany.
I am photographer, visual artist and curator.
From an early age I have nourished myself with art and photography.
At 12 it was given my first camera, an automatic Canon, and from there I began to change my vision of the world, with the need to go more and more behind appearances.
The camera becomes a mirror of humanity. In 2008 I graduated in photography and video at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence.
In 2010 I left for Paris where I still live, where I attended film, photography and body’s anthropology courses at the University of Paris 8. Paris marks a new era for my artistic work, the body becomes the main object of my photography.
The body is the mirror of existence, of the human condition.The body takes on a social and political aspect.This leads me to get to know the fragility of the human being more closely and to the desire to confront with other artists, so in 2018 I create Action Hybride, a collective of artists based in Paris.
We organise exhibitions, conferences, workshops and cultural actions to date. I am also working on my first “human landscapes” photo book.
